Every Good Ride Starts With a Better Understanding.

Nicole's lessons are built around developing you as a rider and educating your horse, so that the progress you make together is real, repeatable, and yours to keep.

Is This the Right Fit for You?

Nicole works with adult riders at any level who are looking for more than just time in the saddle. Whether you are working toward a competitive goal, trying to work through a specific challenge with your horse, or simply want a more confident and consistent partnership, Nicole's lessons give you the tools and understanding to get there.

Nicole also works with younger riders in a safe, structured environment that prioritizes correct fundamentals and builds confidence from the ground up. If you are a parent looking for an instructor who will teach your child horsemanship the right way, not just how to sit on a horse, you are in the right place.

What Nicole's students have in common is not their level or their discipline. It is their mindset. They are open, committed, and willing to look at themselves as part of the equation. If that sounds like you, Nicole would love to work with you.

What a Lesson With Nicole Actually Looks Like

Every lesson begins with a conversation. Nicole wants to know where you are, what you are working toward, and what is getting in the way. From there, every session is built around what you and your horse actually need, not a predetermined curriculum.

Groundwork is a foundational part of Nicole's program for every horse and rider. Before you get in the saddle, Nicole addresses how you and your horse are communicating on the ground, because the clarity, respect, and responsiveness you build there will directly translate to your ridden work.

From there, lessons progress into the saddle with an emphasis on rider position, awareness, and communication. Nicole's background in human biomechanics gives her a trained eye for how your body is affecting your horse's movement, balance, and responsiveness. You will learn not just what to do but why it works, so that you can apply it independently between sessions and continue building on the progress you make together.

You will leave every session with something specific to work on and a clearer picture of where you and your horse are headed.

Flexible Options to Fit Your Situation

Nicole offers lessons both in person and virtually so that geography does not have to be a barrier to good horsemanship education.

In person lessons allow Nicole to work directly with you and your horse, giving her the ability to observe, correct, and guide in real time.

Virtual lessons are conducted via video and are a strong option for riders who are looking for a knowledgeable outside eye on their work, specific feedback on a challenge they are navigating, or consistent guidance between in person sessions.

Both formats are built around the same standard. You will receive the same focused, individualized attention regardless of how you choose to work with Nicole.

What Others Are Saying

"Nicole Cook is a gem! She freely shares her knowledge and expertise in a patient, calm, and gentle way. Nicole has helped me and my horse, Bo, on many occasions where I just felt overwhelmed and stuck in the moment, not sure what to do or how to ask my horse to do it. Nicole would inquire if I wanted some help, and then she would guide me through the steps to achieve my goal. More importantly, she always explained the why behind the how. Nicole is phenomenal at giving direction without criticizing, explaining without causing embarrassment, and building your confidence as a rider and your trust in your horse."
